The seminar on ‘Smart Manufacturing using DX Solutions for Sheet Metal Industries’ organized by alfaTKG, Japan to commemorate its 10th year anniversary of its operation. Over 40 delegates participated. Chief guest of the Seminar Prof N Ramesh Babu, Professor Department of Mechanical Engineering IIT Madras & Secretary, Advanced Manufacturing Technology Development Centre, (AMTDC), IIT Madras. He delivered a keynote speech highlighted upon his collaboration with alfaTKG since its inception and he showed appreciation for alfaTKG growth and its ability to develop smart solutions for Sheet Metal Customers. He commented on the importance of high-tech and critical as well as emerging technologies through academia to make India a developed country by 2030. He mentioned that Smart Manufacturing is essential for small or large companies, alfaTKG is providing such solutions for achieving smart manufacturing. Mr. Toshio Takagi, CEO, alfaTKG delivered a speech showing the growth of alfaTKG in this ten-year operation and introduced the key customers from Japan and India. He kick-started and briefed three recent important software solutions being delivered to customers namely alfaJulia, alfaPRIMO, and alfa100. Dr. Thanapandi walked through alfaJulia software solutions for sheet metal welding, deburring, and inspection using Robots and Cobots. Though there are many OEMs that bring up such solutions, but alfaTKG provides the solution in a better way by linking alfaTKG alfa3D enabling self-teaching and identifying the right welding, deburring, and inspection methods. Yamamotto Shio presented alfaPRIMO which enables drawing management using AI. She explained the three important steps namely drawing scanning, automatic linking, and AI Search. Mr. Toshio Takagi briefly presented alfa100, he requested Mr.Uday, HEM AIR to present his usage experience of alfa100. Mr.Uday presented the benefit of using alfa100 for a work order that contains a huge number of parts. Without using alfa100 the shopfloor people miss many parts that affect the production and quality, but by alfa100 seamlessly all the parts are getting manufactured without any miss. It saves time and enables quality. Followed by this presentation, a Panel Discussion happened. Mr. Vel and Sameta talked about smart solutions using different smart solutions. Japan customer OKABE mentioned that alfaJulia is going to help to do the welding of large parts. Rajeev Lochana presented how robotic solutions are enabled for different applications independent of robot manufacturers.
